Singer Park Sun-ju announced that her relationship with her husband Kang Leo has ended after their separation.
Park Sun-ju married chef Kang Leo in 2012 and is raising a 12-year-old daughter.
Park Sun-ju, who had previously mentioned her separation from Kang Leo several times, recently appeared on Channel A’s ‘My Dad is a Flower Middle-aged Man’ to give an update on her current situation.
On that day’s broadcast, Park Sun-ju gave advice to DJ DOC’s Jung Jae-yong, who had shared his concerns after his divorce.
He said, “I also fought like crazy for the first two to three years after I got married. Then one day, we reached an agreement.”
Park Sun-ju confessed, “It was simple. We fought because we were a man and a woman with my husband,” and “We didn’t fight because we were the mother and father of one child.”
While doing so, she revealed her sense of responsibility as a parent, saying, “Although the relationship between Kang Leo and I has graduated, we live happily as the child’s mother and father.”
In the meantime, Park Sun-joo confessed on Channel A’s ‘Oh Eun-young’s Golden Counseling Center’ last year that she was ‘voluntarily separating’ from her husband Kang Leo.
At the time, Park Sun-joo was reported to be living in Jeju Island with her daughter Amy, while Kang Leo was in Cheonan.
Park Sun-joo explained, “(Kang Leo) has also worked overseas, and he is working in Cheonan and taking care of various tasks.”
Then, in May, Park Sun-joo appeared on Channel A’s ‘Intimate Documentary – Table for 4’ and once again mentioned that she has been separated from her husband Kang Leo for 6 years.
She opened up, saying, “We are not a weekend couple, but live like a month-end couple. It feels new when we see each other once a month.”
In response to Hyunyoung’s question, “Haven’t you ever combined your bank accounts since getting married?” Park Sun-joo explained, “We each pay half of our living expenses and child support and put them in the same bank account. We always split it half.”
Regarding his separation from Kang Leo, he expressed his conviction, saying, “Just like every family has its own unspoken rules, we have ours too. It’s just that it’s not typical and is unique, it’s our own family view.”
As Park Sun-joo recently confessed that her relationship with her husband Kang Leo had ended, the fact that the two separated and their unique family view, which was revealed on a past broadcast, is also being reexamined.
