Ever watch a movie and find yourself asking what the cast is up to today? Let’s take a look at the cast of the 1999 hit comedy Big Daddy.
Have you ever watched a movie and liked a specific actor and then once the movie is over found yourself asking, “I wonder what they’re doing now?” or “What happened to them?” This is common and has likely happened to everyone at least once.
Big Daddy premiered in 1999, and is about a guy named Sonny (Adam Sandler) who has spent the majority of his life avoiding responsibilities at all costs. Eventually, his girlfriend dumps him for an older, “more mature” guy and Sonny desperately wants to find a way to prove to her that he’s ready to grow up. So he decides to adopt a five-year-old boy (Dylan Sprouse, Cole Sprouse) which leads to a series of shenanigans and lessons learned. It’s been several years since the movie premiered. So where is the cast of Big Daddy today?
Over the course of his career, Adam Sandler has established himself as a go-to funny man, often playing goofy, family-centric roles. Since Big Daddy hit screens in 1999, Sandler has appeared in several notable movies including Little Nicky, Punch-Drunk Love, You Don't Mess with the Zohan, Grown Ups, Click, and Murder Mystery. He also did voice acting in the first three Hotel Transylvania movies as Dracula. Recently, Sandler has taken on more dramatic roles which have been recognized as major career highlights. In 2019, he led the Safdie Brothers' Uncut Gems, which some call one of his greatest performances. He also starred in Noah Baumbach's The Meyerowitz Stories in 2017 and Jeremiah Zagar's Hustle in 2022.
For several years now, Sandler has been producing films exclusively for Netflix as part of a large deal with the streaming platform, and there are more movies on the horizon, including a sequel with Murder Mystery where he stars alongside Jennifer Aniston. There have also been rumors that some of Sandler's classic movies like The Waterboy, Happy Gilmore, and Billy Madison may get sequels of their own.
In his early career, Cole Sprouse appeared in several projects — like Big Daddy — alongside his twin brother, Dylan. Sprouse is best known for his role as Cody Martin in the hit Disney Channel show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, which aired from 2005 to 2008. He also reprised his role for the spin-off show The Suite Life on Deck from 2008 to 2011. In true Disney Channel fashion, Sprouse's character from The Suite Life made appearances on other Disney shows like That's So Raven, Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place. More recently, Sprouse is known for his role as Jughead Jones on the CW hit show Riverdale.
In 2011, Sprouse returned to university to study humanities and archeology, participating in several digs and excavations. He later picked up photography and launched a business around it, having shot assignments for fashion publications like Teen Vogue and W Magazine. In terms of upcoming projects, Sprouse will star in the new horror-comedy Lisa Frankensteinthat reimagines the classic Frankenstein story.

Leslie Mann is a very talented actress, oftentimes appearing in movies produced or directed by her husband Judd Apatow and sometimes alongside their daughters Maude and Iris Apatow. Since starring in Big Daddy, Mann has had a massively successful career starring in hit movies like The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Funny People, This is 40 and Blockers. Most recently, she starred alongside an ensemble cast in The Bubble, a movie about a group of actors quarantining in a hotel and trying to film a movie themselves.
Off-screen, Mann is very invested in various philanthropy efforts like the 826LA organization that works to develop writing skills with disadvantaged youth, and the UCLA Rape Treatment Center's Stuart House, which supports sexually abused children and their families in need of support.
Rob Schneider is often seen alongside Sandler in a lot of his films, having worked together for several years now. Since Big Daddy, Schneider went on to star in several notable early 2000s comedies like Mr. Deeds, 50 First Dates, Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo, The Benchwarmers, and The Hot Chick. Recently, he starred in Sandler's Halloween comedy Hubie Halloween in 2020 and the sports comedy Home Team in 2022. In 2015, Schneider created his own reality TV show — titled Real Rob — about his own day-to-day life for Netflix. It was renewed for a second season, which premiered in 2017, but there haven't been any more seasons announced since. The film has a tentative 2023 release and will also star Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lily James, Himesh Patel, Jim Gaffigan, Simon Rex and Uzo Aduba.
