1 am on the 28th, the music festival ‘Boiler Room Seoul 2024’ held at the S-Factory complex cultural space in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, was interrupted for safety reasons due to crowds.
The audience members at the venue left the venue following the instructions of the police and fire department. There were no casualties, but some audience members complaining of breathing difficulties were reportedly given safety measures on site and returned home.
Videos and photos of the tense moment at the time are spreading through various online communities. The audience members at the venue are reportedly demanding compensation for the damages, pointing out that the organizers sold tickets without considering the capacity of the venue.
This concert in particular attracted a lot of attention because famous music producer Peggy Gu was announced to appear. Before the accident, Peggy had expressed excitement by saying, “I’m excited to hear that there are a lot of people in the boiler room who are having a great time without a tomorrow. He lamented, “Everyone, before I could even play my music, the concert was canceled due to operational and safety issues on the part of the concert organizers, and I’m so upset and heartbroken. I had so much anticipation for today, but I couldn’t sleep and came all the way from Japan, who could have imagined something like this would happen.” He
continued, “A report came in and the police were dispatched, but fortunately no major incidents occurred. I have already requested a refund for everyone who purchased tickets as soon as possible.” He also asked,
“For those who came today and those who couldn’t come, we are currently discussing the next concert as soon as possible, so please wait a little longer.”
