‘Busy, busy’ Jo Jung-seok, going all out in genres [X’s Issue]

Actor Jo Jung-seok is continuing his hot streak. 

The movie ‘Pilot’ (Director Kim Han-gyeol) will be released on the 31st. ‘Pilot’ is a comedy about Han Jeong-woo (played by Jo Jung-seok), who becomes unemployed overnight from a star pilot and succeeds in finding a new job after a drastic transformation.

Jo Jung-seok plans to showcase his solid comedy skills, which he has built up since his drastic transformation through cross-dressing, in ‘Pilot’. He proved his box office power by mobilizing 2.14 million viewers with his solid acting, from the sweet chemistry between him and Shin Min-a as a newlywed couple to the touching ending. He

also played the role of the sly macho Hwa-shin in the drama ‘Jealousy Incarnate’, and showed synergy by playing the role of the sinister conman Doo-sik in the movie ‘Brother’ that was released later.

Then in 2019, he returned to the role of Yong-nam, an unemployed young man, in ‘Exit’ and showed off his amazing chemistry with Im Yoon-ah, recording 9.42 million viewers.

His overflowing sense of humor is also fully demonstrated in entertainment, recently making people laugh on tvN’s ‘Amazing Saturday’ and the web entertainment ‘Salon Drip 2’. He has also announced his appearance on tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’, and attention is focused on what kind of wit he will show.

This sense of humor and musicality will be concluded as a Netflix entertainment show. ‘New Singer Jo Jung-seok’ is the debut project of Jo Jung-seok, an actor with 20 years of experience and a sincere love of music who dreams of becoming a singer-songwriter.

PD Yang Jeong-woo of ‘New Singer Jo Jung-seok’ said, “Jo Jung-seok has been an actor for 20 years, but being a singer has been his dream since he was young. Up until now, of course, he has sung in musicals and OSTs, but he took on the challenge with the goal of writing and singing his own songs,” foreshadowing Jo Jung-seok’s self-composed songs. 

The movie ‘Pilot’ will be released on the 31st, and ‘New Singer Jo Jung-seok’ will be released a month later on August 30th.
