As someone fresh out of college, finding a fun happy hour spot is one of the best feelings. Food and drinks just taste better when you know the check won’t break your bank account (a proven fact by yours truly). Getting more bang for your buck is what we can all use nowadays, so I created a list of happy hour deals at local restaurants, bars and ballparks here in Daytona Beach.
So instead of hoping they have happy hour, you know where the deals are and have a plethora of places to pick from. For those like me who need a snack with their drink, deals on small plates and appetizers are also included. Please call ahead to verify the deals, which are subject to change.

Catch a breeze and a deal near the Speedway with happy hour at Bahama Breeze Island Grille. Happy hour is Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m., and for late-night diners, 9-11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Select appetizers, such as wings, many shrimp dishes, and spinach and artichoke dip are half off. Beers are $3 and cocktails and wine start at $4. Bahama Breeze can put you on island time, whether you’re leaving a race or chasing a good deal.

Big Tuna offers big deals Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. across the street from the sands of Daytona Beach. Tuna’s happy hour features $2 off wells and wine, $1 off craft beer, discounted house cocktails and a food menu with small plates under $7. Big Tunas also has daily deals such as “Thirsty Thursdays” with $3 LandSharks, “Wine Wednesdays” with half-off bottles, $5 margaritas on Mondays and $8 bloody Marys on Sundays. If looking for more than small bites, Big Tunas is home to all-you-can-eat crab and shrimp. If dining before or after a day at the beach, be sure to go to Big Tunas with a big appetite.

You don’t have to love cars for Blue Flame restaurant and bar to rev your engine, but it might be a good start. The drink menu offers handcrafted cocktails as well as the signature “moonshine drinks,” a sly reference to NASCAR’s outlaw heritage. The restaurant also offers happy hour from 4:30 to 7 p.m. with $4 Bud Light and Michelob Ultra, $7 wine and $8 blood orange moonshine mule and pit box collins. For anyone seeking a dining and drinking experience near the racetrack, which can also be budget-friendly, be sure to visit Blue Flame.

Caribbean Jack’s has waterfront views and happy hour deals every day from 3 to 6 p.m. With buckets of beer starting at $14.99, draft beer and wine for $3 and well drinks for just $3.75, the whole group can find something to enjoy. Happy hour not being enough, Jack’s features daily deals with $6 specialty drinks Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; $4 local Florida beers on Thursday and $12 beach buckets on Friday. Be sure to pair all this drinkin’ with appetizers such as the spinach and artichoke dip ($9.99) or peel and eat shrimp ($13.99). Enjoy the booze and views at Caribbean Jack’s on the Halifax River.

Chart House is home to a happy hour for those looking for a great food deal with happy hour every day from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Small plates start off at $4 with panko fried deviled eggs, kimchee fried vegetables and truffle fries. For something more filling the spinach and artichoke dip, lettuce wraps and firecracker shrimp are only $6. Diners can get meatier options such as Asian beef sliders, burger sliders and fish tacos for $8. Lastly, lobster tartare, southwest crispy avocado and prime rib sliders are only $10. For those wanting to drink, glasses of wine start at $6, cocktails $7, $5 wells and $4.25 import drafts. With many options, Chart House is home to an ideal happy hour with waterfront views of the Halifax River.

Hyde Park Steakhouse, on the shores of Daytona Beach, offers happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the bar. The well-known steakhouse inside the Hilton Hotel offers martinis and cocktails starting at $7 and small bar plates such as jumbo shrimp cocktail ($8), Wagyu beef carpaccio ($10), grilled dry-aged sirloin sliders ($5) and tuna wonton ($5). If looking to dine on the busy Atlantic Avenue, small plates and drinks during happy hour come with complimentary valet parking at the hotel.

Nothing is better than supporting your local baseball team with a cold beer in your hand. But what if the beer is only $1? “Thirsty Thursdays” are in full swing at the Jackie Robinson Ballpark with $1 Shock Top, Bud Light, Michelob Ultra and LandShark the entire game at the Budweiser Bullpen on the back left of the field. For those not in it for the beer, “Belly Buster Wednesday” features all-you-can-eat hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza and popcorn for your ticket price.

Landshark Bar and Grill offers happy hour deals from 8 to 10 p.m. The happy menu features $4 domestic beers, $5 wells, $6 “loaded” LandShark drafts, $5 chips and salsa and $6 fried pickles. Looking for a quick drink before the band performs? Mai Tai, located next to the Bandshell with views of the Atlantic, offers late-night happy hour deals for food and drinks. With bites such as parmesan and herb fries, sliders and firecracker Thai chili shrimp, quick shareables are the perfect option to keep the energy up. Closing after midnight, beverages such as the mai tais, margaritas, and tropical cocktails will continue to flow. Music, drinks and the beach, that’s Mai Tai. With what seems like a never-ending happy hour list, a few of the deals include $4 Red Stripe and LandShark, margarita mason jars and Barefoot Wines; $1 off draft beer pints and $3 off fish dip, chicken quesadillas and nautical nachos.
