247 – The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced this Saturday (9) that in the coming days he will hold a ‘high level’ meeting with the government of Guyana, seeking to address the territorial dispute over Essequibo, highlights the EFE agency. The announcement about the meeting comes two days after American military aircraft carried out maneuvers over the territory of Guyana.
In an official statement, the Venezuelan government states: “In these conversations, the proposal was received to hold a high-level meeting with Guyana, which will be announced in the coming days, in order to preserve our aspiration to maintain Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace, without interference from external actors”.
