Nintendo eShop’s deals for Cyber Monday have officially begun. Here are a few games in the sale that players should add to their Switch’s library.
A lot of different stores have been releasing their deals on video games for Black Friday and Cyber Monday over the past few weeks leading up to the holidays. With so many terrific deals now on offer, it can be difficult for gamers to keep track of and decide which ones would be the best for their purposes.
Nintendo's eShop has joined in on the trend, starting its sale off a few days early. There are a number of games available from beloved indies and recent AAA releases to games from some of Nintendo's most famous franchises and series. Here are a few must-buy Switch games being offered in the sale.
While the Luigi's Mansion games might not be the most bustling of Nintendo's series with only three games released over a two-decade period, each game has been quite successful and adored by fans. If it wasn't obvious from the title, Luigi takes the starring role in this game over his brother, Mario. The storyline follows Luigi as he explores a haunted hotel after his friends are taken captive by ghosts.
Luigi's Mansion 3 has single and multiplayer modes, online and local, so it's a great experience for one person or a group. Players should know that while the game is themed in a spooky manner, it's definitely not a horror game, so it's perfect for anyone looking for a fun action adventure with an iconic sidekick at its helm.
Widely known as one of the hardest games of all time, Dark Souls: Remastered is a ported version of the first game that was brought over to the Switch a few years ago. In the game, the player is a cursed human who sets out to uncover the mystery surrounding other undead humans like them. With an untraditional narrative compared to more typical stories wherein the details are offered through key plot points, this game's story is told through the environment and dialogue with NPCs.
It should be noted that this game is not for someone looking for a relaxing experience. However, for those gamers up for a serious challenge, it's one of the best video games of all time, having helped inspire the entire Soulslike genre.
While there is no shortage of Star Wars games, KOTOR II is one of the most well-known and arguably the best. KOTOR II picks up five years after the events of the first game and follows The Exile, a former Jedi Knight who had been expelled from the Order shortly before it had been almost entirely wiped out by the Sith four thousand years before the events of Episode I – The Phantom Menace. This game is a classic role-playing experience set in the world of Star Wars with a bit of a darker tone than other stories in the same universe.
This 2021 remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD was a huge success, selling millions of copies. It's said that the criticism of the original game's traditional linear narrative was taken into account when the developers were creating Breath of the Wild. However, Skyward Sword is a great experience in itself and one of the best games in the series.
The title's story is typical of Zelda games, with the protagonist, Link, discovering that he's a hero and setting out on a path to save Princess Zelda. This is the perfect game to keep fans who are waiting for the release of Tears of a Kingdom busy in the meantime.
One of the year's best indie games, Neon White is a mix between a first-person shooter and a puzzle-platforming game created by Angel Matrix. In this game, the player is a Neon, a sinner from Hell tasked with cleaning up the demons in Heaven in an annual competition for the chance to stay there once everything is done. During the proceedings, the player tries to clear levels as fast as possible, using playing cards to switch between various weapons and special moves. As such, it's perfect for speedrunning, where the goal is to go as fast as possible.
