Red Velvet’s Special Gift for ’10th Debut Anniversary’… ‘Sweet Dreams’ for Fans [Jukebox]

Group Red Velvet, celebrating their 10th debut anniversary, tickled the hearts of their fans with a fan song. 

Red Velvet (Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, Yeri) released their new song “Sweet Dreams” through various music streaming sites at 6 PM on the 1st. “Sweet Dreams” is a fan song that Red Velvet presents to Reveluv (fandom name). 

Red Velvet debuted on August 1, 2014 with “Happiness.” On this special day, they celebrated their “Yeoldol” (열돌). Through “Sweet Dreams,” they sent a warm goodnight greeting to their fans who have grown with them for the past 10 years. 

“Sweet Dreams” is a medium tempo song with a cheerful melody and half riffs that utilize the arpeggio technique. Red Velvet released their new album ‘Cosmic’ last June. ‘Sweet Dreams’ is also the song that decorates the epilogue of the ‘Cosmic’ album. 

Through the lyrics of ‘Sweet Dreams’, Red Velvet portrayed an imaginary friend (doll) that wakes up inside a bookshelf on moonlit nights, shares each other’s day, and stays by each other’s side until they fall asleep. It also contained the message, ‘We who dream the same dream will always be together and share endless stories.’ 

“Tell me about your day, I don’t mind staying up all night, My love / Talk like when we were young.”

“I’ll tell you my story / Close your eyes and lean in, My love / Turn back time.”

“We’re always young and fearless / The world we drew together is a dazzling cosmic planet / You know? Nothing changes, even when the sun rises / We’re together because we dream the same dream.” Lyrics like these, combined with Red Velvet’s sweet vocals, make fans excited.

Meanwhile, the special video for “Sweet Dreams” was also unveiled along with the release of the song. It colorfully captures the members’ recording scenes and their past activities.
