The COP28 draft does not include the end of fossil fuels and speaks of a “reduction” of oil, gas and coal

The COP28 It seems to deflate the moment it comes to an end and will not propose sharp measures against hydrocarbons. The United Arab Emirates, host of the major climate summit, has presented a draft that leaves the doors open to continue using oil, gas and coal and does not set the end of these fossil fuels as an objective.

President Al Jaber’s text has stopped at calling for a “deep and rapid reduction” of CO2 emissions, and to do so it proposes measures such as carbon dioxide capture technologies, nuclear energy, as well as tripling the use of renewable energy.
